The Ultimate Casino Wagering Calculator by ZeroWager.co.uk
Most casino bonuses look better in the advert than they do in the terms and conditions. A headline like “£100 bonus” tells you nothing about the part that actually matters: how much you have to bet before any of it is yours to keep. Our wagering calculator works that out for you. Enter the offer, press Calculate, and you get the real stake you need to put through, so you can decide whether a bonus is worth claiming before you part with a penny.
What A Wagering Calculator Actually Does
A wagering requirement, sometimes called a playthrough, is the number of times you have to bet your bonus before the winnings become withdrawable cash. A 35x requirement on £100 of free money means £3,500 in bets, not £100. That gap is where a lot of players get caught.
The calculator does that sum for you, along with a couple of others that are easy to get wrong, and gives you a single number: the amount you need to bet. It works for welcome bonuses, no deposit offers, and the cash value of free spins. If you want to skip the requirement altogether, our no wagering bonus and free spins with no wagering pages cover offers that let you withdraw winnings straight away.
How To Use The ZeroWager Calculator
There are four fields. Fill them in from the bonus terms and press Calculate.
Amount of Free Money. The bonus credited to your account, in pounds. This is the free money itself, whether it comes from a no deposit bonus, a welcome offer, or the cash value of your free spins.
Wagering Requirements. The multiplier from the casino terms, written as a number. For a 35x requirement, type 35. Next to it is a dropdown that decides what the requirement applies to:
- Bonus: you only play through the free money.
- Bonus + Winnings: you play through the free money plus whatever you win with it. This raises your target, sometimes by a lot.
Estimated Winnings. Only matters if you have picked Bonus + Winnings. Enter how much you expect to win from the free money, and the calculator adds it to the amount you need to wager. On Bonus only, leave it at zero.
Game Contribution Rate (%). How much your chosen games count towards the requirement. Slots usually count 100%. Table games like blackjack and roulette often count far less, sometimes nothing. The lower the rate, the more you have to bet to clear the same bonus.
Press Calculate and the Amount You Need to Bet appears underneath. That figure is the total stake you have to place before the casino will let you withdraw.
The Maths Behind The Result
The calculator is doing this:
- On Bonus: stake = Amount of Free Money x Wagering Requirements
- On Bonus + Winnings: stake = (Amount of Free Money + Estimated Winnings) x Wagering Requirements
It then divides that by your game contribution rate. So a £3,500 target on games counting only 50% is really £7,000 in bets.
A worked example. Take £100 of free money with a 35x requirement, set to Bonus, on slots that count 100%. Your target is £3,500. Now switch the dropdown to Bonus + Winnings and add £50 of estimated winnings. The target climbs to £5,250. Same bonus, one different setting, and nearly £1,750 more to wager.
The Two Settings That Catch People Out
If you only change two things in the calculator, make it these.
The first is the Bonus versus Bonus + Winnings dropdown. Plenty of players assume the requirement only ever applies to the bonus money. When the terms say it also covers the winnings, your real target can be far higher than the advert suggests. Always check which one the casino uses.
The second is the game contribution rate. A bonus that looks reasonable on slots can become almost impossible to clear if you prefer table games that count 10% or 20%. If you play roulette or blackjack, set the rate honestly. The number you get back is the one that matters for how you actually play.
Why We Built This
We spend most of our time at ZeroWager looking for bonuses that have no wagering at all, because those are the only offers where the headline figure is the real figure. But standard bonuses with a playthrough are still the most common thing you will find at UK casinos, and at the higher requirements common with non GamStop sites the maths gets steeper still.
This calculator exists so you can see that maths before you commit, compare two offers on the same terms, and walk away from the ones that are not worth your time. No spin, just the number.
18+ only. The result is an estimate based on the figures you enter, so always read the full terms and conditions of any offer. Gamble responsibly and manage your bankroll sensibly.
